All successful leaders have developed great finance skills – alongside their bookkeeper, finance manager and their tax accountant, have kept everything ticking over smoothly for a number of years.
Successful firms however will start to face more complex financial and strategic challenges as they grow. It can often feel over-whelming for the CEO / Founder, juggling too many balls and taking focus off the core business.
Plug-in Finance fills this gap. We work with CEOs / Founders to manage the strategic and financial challenges that they start to face, and provide the insight needed to move the business forward. It could be for a one-off piece of work, or 2-4 days ongoing CFO support per month.
Hello, I'm Mairianne
I am a portfolio CFO and I provide strategic and commercial financial leadership to SMEs on a part-time or project basis.
My experience and expertise is quite unique – I’m not just a number cruncher!! I have over 20-years’ experience with C-suite executives in FTSE-100 companies, working in a number of senior finance roles, including Internal Audit, Financial Planning & Analysis, Operational Tax, Risk Management, Regulatory Change Management and latterly in divisional FD roles. This breadth of experience allowed me to excel as a true all-round commercial business partner to the Executives that I supported.
Utilising this experience, I have been supporting a variety of SME CEOs / Founders on their growth journeys since 2021. Not only do I love this work, and find it truly fulfilling, but I have been able to add a lot of value to the businesses I have supported!
Who do I help?
Plug-in Finance works with SMEs where turnover is typically between £1 - £8m, or may even be pre-revenue.
We work with SMEs who need help navigating the more complex challenges they start to face. We can take some of these pressures off the CEO, and they can start focussing on the core business again.
We also work with SMEs who have ambitious growth plans – they usually need help doing 3-5 year strategic planning, monitoring progress of objectives, and often they are looking to professionalise operations - set up more formal ExCo meetings, create commercial targets and reporting etc.
